Nairobi to Tsavo West
Depart by road for Tsavo West National Park, arriving in time for lunch followed by an optional afternoon or evening game drive. As the most visited section of Tsavo, the park offers a variety of attractions beyond its wildlife. One of the highlights is the famous Mzima Springs, where millions of litres of cool, crystal-clear water flow daily through porous volcanic rocks. This water is believed to originate from the Chyulu Hills via an underground river. After your activities, return for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. Explore some of the park’s unique highlights, including the Roaring Rocks, named for the wind that rushes through them, and offering sweeping views over Tsavo from a 98-meter rock face. Similar panoramic vistas can be enjoyed from Poacher’s Lookout. Visit the relatively young Chaimu Crater, formed less than 200 years ago from black volcanic rock, which can be climbed for those interested. This area is also ideal for spotting the agile klipspringer, a small antelope known in Swahili as *mbuzi mawe* (mountain goat). In the southwest corner lies Lake Jipe, straddling the Kenya-Tanzania border. Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
