Day 1

Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park

Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park

Depart by road for Tsavo West National Park, arriving in time for lunch followed by an optional afternoon or evening game drive. As the most visited section of Tsavo, the park offers a variety of attractions beyond its wildlife. One of the highlights is the famous Mzima Springs, where millions of litres of cool, crystal-clear water flow daily through porous volcanic rocks. This water is believed to originate from the Chyulu Hills via an underground river. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at your lodge.
Note: Accommodation can be upgraded to more luxurious options or adjusted to suit a more economical budget, with corresponding price changes.

Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive with a packed lunch provided. Explore some of the park’s notable highlights, including the Roaring Rocks, named for the wind that rushes through them, offering spectacular views across Tsavo from a 98-meter rock face. Similar panoramic scenery can be enjoyed from the Poacher’s Lookout. Visit the relatively young Chaimu Crater, formed less than 200 years ago from black volcanic rock, which can be climbed for those interested. This area is also ideal for spotting the agile klipspringer, a small antelope known in Swahili as *mbuzi mawe* (mountain goat). In the southwest corner of Tsavo West lies Lake Jipe, straddling the Kenya-Tanzania border. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Located south of Nairobi, Amboseli is characterized by a dry, ancient lake bed and fragile grasslands interspersed with acacia woodland. The southern area features small rocky volcanic hills, while the swamps of Ol Okenya, Ol Tukai, and Enkongo Narok support lush vegetation, including yellow-barked acacias and phoenix palms. Amboseli National park

Rise early for clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds gather over the summit, with a packed lunch provided. After breakfast, you may opt to visit a Maasai village, where you’ll experience traditional singing and dancing that are part of their daily life and sacred rituals. The visit also offers insight into their homes and social structure, providing a meaningful cultural experience. Despite its changing environment, Amboseli National Park remains one of the best places in Africa to observe elephants at close range. With minimal disturbance, large herds can be seen feeding and bathing in the swamps—often the highlight of any safari. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.
