Depart kampala And transfer to kisoro

Early morning, you will depart from Kampala and embark on a scenic long drive southwestwards to Kisoro. The journey takes you through the beautiful countryside of Uganda, passing through towns, rolling hills, and rural communities.

A lunch stop will be made in Ntungamo, where you will have time to relax and enjoy lunch before continuing the journey. After lunch, proceed towards Kisoro, passing through the scenic highlands of southwestern Uganda.

Arrive in Kisoro in the late evening, check in at your accommodation, and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga NP

After early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for gorilla trekking, guides will brief on safety precautions, and the do's and don’ts while in the forest. You will then begin an unforgettable trek through the misty tropical forest in search of the endangered mountain gorillas.

The trek may take several hours depending on the location of the gorilla family, but the reward is a magical encounter as you spend one hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. You will have the opportunity to watch their fascinating behaviors, social interactions, and way of life while capturing memorable moments through photography.

After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch, relaxation, and time to unwind after this once-in-a-lifetime experience. In the evening, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

Golden monkey trekking and Batwa culture

After breakfast, you will head to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park headquarters for a briefing on golden monkey tracking guidelines and safety procedures. You will then embark on an exciting trek through the beautiful bamboo forests and lush landscapes of the park in search of the rare and endangered golden monkeys.

During the trek, you will enjoy the opportunity to observe these playful primates in their natural habitat while also discovering the rich biodiversity of the forest, including various bird species and other wildlife. After the experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Later in the afternoon, you will participate in the Batwa cultural experience, where you will interact with the indigenous Batwa community and learn about their traditional way of life, ancient forest knowledge, cultural practices, and customs.
