Gorilla trekking-Iby'lwacu cultural experience

After an early breakfast, transfer to the headquarters of Volcanoes National Park for a briefing by park rangers. You will be assigned a gorilla family and guided on trekking rules before heading into the dense rainforest.

The gorilla trek can take between 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. As you hike through bamboo forests and misty slopes, experienced trackers will lead you to a habituated gorilla family. Once found, you will spend one magical hour observing them—watching their behavior, interactions, and movements in their natural habitat. This close encounter is emotional, powerful, and truly unforgettable.

After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation or lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for a cultural experience.
