After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive with a packed lunch provided. The reserve is famous for its black-maned lions, abundant resident wildlife, and is one of the few places where the Big Five can often be seen in a single morning drive. Cheetahs here are so relaxed around vehicles that they may rest in the shade underneath them during the heat of the day, with some even climbing onto the roof for a better view of potential prey. Bird lovers can also enjoy an extraordinary diversity, with nearly 500 recorded species including 16 types of eagles, various hawks and falcons, six species of vultures, eight species of storks, four species of bustards—including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird—and nine species of sunbirds.
