Arusha to Serengeti National Park

Depart From Arusha for Serengeti National Park, Via-Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey offers great views of the crater rim before descending into the endless Serengeti plains. Along the way, enjoy wildlife sightings as the landscape gradually opens into classic savannah dotted with acacia trees. A picnic lunch is taken en route to maximize time in the wilderness. Upon entering the central Serengeti, begin a game drive across one of Africa’s most wildlife-rich regions. Expect to see large herds of wildebeests and zebras, along with predators such as lions, cheetahs, and possibly leopards. The open plains and rocky kopjes create ideal habitats for wildlife viewing. Continue exploring into the late afternoon before heading to camp, where the sunset over the plains marks a perfect end to your first safari day.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, taking advantage of the active early hours when predators are often on the move. This region is well known for its consistent wildlife presence, including lions, cheetahs, and large herds of grazers such as wildebeests and zebras. After the game drive, begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, continuing with wildlife viewing along the way. The drive gradually transitions from open plains to rolling highlands, with cooler temperatures and changing vegetation. A picnic lunch is enjoyed en route, allowing for a relaxed pace of travel. Arrive near the crater rim in the late afternoon, where breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Crater unfold below. The area also offers cultural richness to the experience. Spend the evening relaxing and preparing for the crater exploration the following day.

Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive in this extraordinary natural enclosure. The crater floor is home to a high concentration of wildlife, offering one of the best chances to see the Big Five in a single location. Expect to sighting elephants, buffaloes, lions, zebras, wildebeests, and hippos, along with a variety of birdlife around the crater lakes. With some luck, the endangered black rhino may also be spotted. The landscape inside the crater is diverse, featuring open grasslands, swamps, and acacia forests that support a wide range of species. After a picnic lunch on the crater floor, ascend back to the rim and continue to Karatu for overnight. The cooler climate and peaceful surroundings provide a relaxing end to a rewarding safari day.

Lake Manyara to Arusha

After breakfast, depart Karatu for Lake Manyara National Park, located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Upon arrival, begin a game drive through the lush groundwater forest, home to baboons, monkeys, and a variety of bird species. As the landscape opens, explore the lakeshore and surrounding plains where elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and zebras are mostly seen. The park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, although sightings are not always guaranteed. The alkaline lake attracts flamingos and other water birds, creating a colorful and dynamic environment. Enjoy a game drive across the park’s diverse habitats before exiting in the afternoon. Later, return to Arusha, marking the end of your safari with a blend of forest, lake, and wildlife experiences.
