Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative who will assist you with your luggage and provide a short briefing about your safari. You will then be transferred for an overnight stay on a bed and breakfast basis at your selected accommodation, either Boma Hotel, Karibu Guest House, or Cassia Lodge, where you can relax and recover from your journey.

Day 2

After breakfast and a brief meeting with the representatives, at 7.30am your adventure begins by driving northwest towards Masindi and Murchison Falls National Park, the largest national park in Uganda, which offers beautiful sceneries of grassland acacia savannah in the north and tropical forests in the south. You will stop over for a nature walk at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, the breeding project which is nurturing the rebirth of the endangered white rhinos in Uganda. You can see them closely while walking freely in the reserve which is their natural habitat. Lunch in a restaurant and in the afternoon, proceed to Murchison Falls National Park and visit “top of the falls” where the River Nile creates a narrow canyon of thunderous water as it lowers down the Albertine Rift Valley. Check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight, Pakuba Lodge / Le Bamboo Village Lodge / Tilenga Lodge.

After breakfast/cup of coffee at 6.30am you will embark on an early morning game drive, explore the savannah in the delta of the Nile on Lake Albert, Northern bank. As you view and take memorable photographs of the animals in the wild, you might find elephants, lions, buffalos, giraffes, waterbucks, bushbucks, spotted hyenas and, very rarely, the leopards.
Drive back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you take the boat safari along the river Nile to the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls. The amazing concentration of wildlife on the bank of the river Nile, includes hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird’s species, like African eagles, pelicans, kingfisher, Egyptian geese and much more.

After a cup of coffee or full breakfast, depart at 7am to the Nile delta by boat and discover the birdlife and scenic views along the Nile. It is an impressive experience encountering the shoebill in the swamps along the Nile. More so, this is a moment to discover the birdlife along this part of the Nile. Proceed your journey in the direction of Lake Albert to Bugoma Forest reserve. Lunch en route in a restaurant. While at Bugoma, take a cultural experience of Bugoma community walk in the local villages. This is an opportunity for you to interact with the people living near the forest, to see how they live and the activity is guided by a local guide. Dinner and overnight at Bugoma Jungle Lodge.

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before departing for Uganda mangabey trekking in Bugoma Forest, supported by the Association for Conservation of Bugoma Forest, which promotes eco-tourism, guide training, and community development. Learn about key initiatives such as the “Every 5 Acres” reforestation project, the Chimp T-RAP anti-logging patrol, indigenous tree nurseries, and beekeeping with local farmers, with opportunities to purchase Bugoma tea and honey and plant an indigenous tree to support habitat restoration. After the activity, drive southwest along Lake Albert and the Rift Valley escarpment, enjoying scenic views, with a coffee stop and lunch en route at a local restaurant, before continuing in the afternoon to Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro Kingdom at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains, for dinner and overnight at Guereza Canopy Lodge or Isunga Lodge.

After breakfast, the activity of the day is the chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest. The activity of the day is the chimpanzee tracking experience which starts as early as 8am or 2pm in the afternoon according to the permit’s allocation with a briefing from the head park ranger. Kibale is one of the few remaining forests with a high concentration of chimpanzees, about a thousand out of the total population of five thousand in Uganda. The great apes were familiarized to eco-tourism thanks to the projects by Jane Goodall International Institute which worked on the conservation of Kibale. Other primates you might see while on the trek include black and white colobus, red tailed monkey and velvet monkey. Lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon, visit the eco-tourist site of Bigodi for village walk. The Bigodi Walk is a local initiative project organized by the local community of Kafred. Return at leisure to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Guereza Canopy Lodge / Isunga Lodge.

Day 7
Queen Elizabeth National Park

In the morning after relaxed breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The transfer will last about 3 hours. Lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon take the most exciting safari by boat from Mweya peninsula along the Kazinga channel. This is one of the most popular sites in Uganda for its concentration of wildlife, birdlife and opportunities for good photographs. See plenty of hippos, buffaloes and elephants while drinking from the channel.
Return at lush to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Ihamba Lakeside Safari Lodge / Kasenyi Safari Lodge.

After early breakfast, proceed for another game drive in the plains of Kasenyi and then proceed with a short transfer to the southern sector, Ishasha. This is a vast savannah between the rivers: Ishasha and Ntungwe. Lunch at the camp in Ishasha
Prepare for the evening game drive in search of the “tree climbing lions” which are seen during the hot hours of the day, as they lie resting on top of Figs trees. See also herds of buffaloes, elephants, topi antelopes and more. While on the evening game drive, we organize the “Sundowner” activity in the park, to enjoy the sunset immersed in the nature while having a drink. Dinner and overnight at Ishasha Jungle Lodge.

After a cup of coffee, at 6.30am go for another game drive along the tracks of the national park, in the Southern sector. You might see lions, elephants, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, perhaps the leopard though is shy and rare to be seen. Lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon, more game drives or go in for the Kameme Village Walk. Here, with the guidance of a local guide, enjoy a 2 hour’s walk to visit some homesteads and interact with the local people. You can proceed to Kameme Divine Primary School which is a community school and part of the corporate sponsorship program for Ishasha Jungle Lodge.
Return by evening to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Ishasha Jungle Lodge.

After breakfast, leave Queen Elizabeth and head southwards, where you find the rain tropical forests which are the natural habitat for the endangered mountain gorillas. Lunch en route. Reach Bwindi National Park by evening for dinner and overnight, Bweza Lodge / Agandi Lodge / Noel Cottage.
Note: Today transfer can be from 3 to 5 hours and depends on accommodation selected, roads conditions and place of allocation of gorilla permits. The choice of the area of the gorilla safari depends on the availability of permits at time of booking the trip.

In the morning you enter the rain tropical forest of Bwindi for the gorilla safari. The activity starts at 8am and you will follow the ranger guides in a group of maximum 8 people as you search for the habituated family of mountain gorillas, which was allocated according to the permits. Bwindi forest in Uganda has a population of about 420 gorillas, which is more than half of the world population according to 2018 gorilla population surveys. It is not predictable the time you will spend to encounter the gorillas. You have one hour for observing the primates and their behaviors, while taking photographs. Packed lunch and water are provided from the lodge. For this you might need the support of available porters.

After breakfast, optionally, you can enjoy a walk in the nature of Echuya Forest, to encounter the Batwa pigmies and to learn about their history, traditions and culture. Later drive to Lake Bunyonyi near Kabale in the Kigezi region. Lunch at the lodge.
In the afternoon you have a wonderful experience of nature with a guided canoe excursion along the Lake, for birding, exploration and visiting local places. In the evening relax at the lodge, dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Eco-resort / Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort.

After breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest of Ugandan National Parks. Lunch en route. As you enter the park, go in for a game drive in search for the beautiful impalas, elands, topi and many antelopes, buffaloes, zebras. Optional: night game drive in Lake Mburo. Dinner and overnight at Hyena Hill Lodge.
