Day 3

After breakfast, the journey inland begins as you depart the coast and travel through the bustling coastal town of Mombasa before continuing into Kenya’s interior landscapes.

As the scenery gradually changes from coastal plains to dry bushland and rolling hills, you approach the Taita Hills region. Upon arrival at Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, you proceed to the iconic elevated lodge, Salt Lick Safari Lodge.

The lodge is uniquely constructed on stilts overlooking natural waterholes, offering uninterrupted wildlife viewing directly from the property. After arrival, you settle in and enjoy lunch followed by time to relax and observe wildlife activity from the lodge’s viewing decks.

This private conservancy is home to elephants, buffalo, giraffes, antelope species, and a variety of birdlife. As evening approaches, the changing light creates excellent photographic opportunities before returning to the lodge for relaxation and overnight rest.

Day 4

Taita Hills - Tsavo East National Park

Following an early breakfast, you depart Taita Hills and continue your journey into one of Kenya’s largest and most iconic protected areas, Tsavo East National Park.

Upon entry into the park, you immediately begin a game drive, experiencing the vast open landscapes that define Tsavo East. The park is known for its expansive savannah, red volcanic soil, and large elephant herds often coated in the region’s distinctive red dust.

Wildlife sightings may include lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, antelope species, and a rich diversity of birdlife. The drive continues toward your accommodation within the park area, with wildlife encounters possible en route.

After arrival and settling in, the afternoon offers an additional game drive exploring key wildlife zones such as riverbeds and waterholes, including areas around Aruba Dam, which is a known wildlife concentration point.

After an early morning game drive and breakfast, you depart Tsavo East and travel toward Amboseli National Park.

The journey takes you through changing landscapes, passing rural settlements and open plains as you approach the Amboseli ecosystem. Upon arrival, you proceed to your accommodation at Hunter's Luxury Manor Amboseli.

After check-in and lunch, you embark on an afternoon game drive within Amboseli National Park. The park is internationally renowned for its large elephant herds and dramatic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, which often appears clearly during late afternoon light.

Wildlife viewing in Amboseli includes elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, and a wide variety of bird species concentrated around the park’s swamps and seasonal lakes.

The morning begins with an early game drive, when wildlife is most active and the light conditions are ideal for photography. This is the best time to observe elephants moving across the plains and predators such as lions and cheetahs in motion.

After returning to the lodge for a mid-morning break, the afternoon is reserved for another extended game drive, exploring different sections of the park including swamps, acacia woodlands, and open grasslands.

Amboseli offers exceptional opportunities for wildlife photography, particularly with the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, weather permitting. Optional cultural interaction with a Maasai village may also be arranged to provide insight into traditional pastoralist life.
