Central serengeti national park
Serengeti National Park’s Central Serengeti, also known as the Seronera region, is the core wildlife area of the park and one of the most important safari zones in East Africa. It is defined by vast open plains, scattered acacia trees, and rocky granite formations called kopjes, which provide shelter for predators and panoramic viewing points for visitors.
This region is particularly famous for its exceptional year-round wildlife concentration. The permanent Seronera River system supports a wide variety of animals even during dry seasons, making it one of the most reliable game-viewing areas in Africa. Visitors commonly encounter lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and large herds of antelope in close proximity.
The Central Serengeti also plays a key role in the Great Migration, as millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles pass through the area at different times of the year in search of fresh grazing land. This creates dramatic wildlife scenes.

SErengeti Nationa Park to Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most remarkable natural landmarks and a highlight of Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Formed millions of years ago when a massive volcano collapsed, it created the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, with steep crater walls rising up to about 600 meters and enclosing a vast, self contained wildlife ecosystem.
Located within the broader Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the crater floor spans roughly 260 square kilometers and supports a wide variety of habitats, including grasslands, swamps, forests, and a soda lake. These diverse environments sustain an exceptionally high concentration of wildlife year-round.
The Ngorongoro Crater is famous for offering one of the best chances in Africa to see the Big Five lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and the rare black rhinoceros within a single day. It also hosts large populations of wildebeest, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and flamingos, creating constant wildlife activity within a relatively compact area.
