Nairobi to Maasai Mara

Start your day with a pick up from your hotel or the airport. Then head to Maasai Mara National Reserve for the wildebeest migration, passing through the scenic Rift Valley with a brief stop at the viewpoint.

Arrive at the reserve in the late afternoon. Go straight into an evening game drive. Return to camp for dinner, then wind down by the bush fire before calling it a night.

Now this is what you have been waiting for.

Start early. Head out as the Mara wakes up. Game is everywhere on the way to the migration sites.

Spot the lone tree. Catch the Thompson’s gazelle in the open plains. Watch the tall Maasai giraffe move with ease. See elephants and buffaloes along the way.

At the riverbanks, slow down. Wait. Then it happens. The real action unfolds right in front of you.

Take your time. Take your photos. Stay in the moment.

If you carried a packed lunch, you keep going until early evening. If not, we drive back to the lodge for a quick lunch, then head out again. The game viewing continues just like the morning.

In the evening, ease into dinner. A mix of Mediterranean and African cuisine. Good food, relaxed setting.

Grab a cold drink. Settle in.

Then the night comes alive with entertainment from the Maasai Warrior. Enjoy every bit of it.

It’s sad to leave, but it is what it is.

We head out early and enjoy one last game drive. There’s still more to see, and chances are you’ll spot what you missed the day before.

Then we begin the journey back. Take in the views one more time.

Arrive in Nairobi late in the afternoon. From there, you get a free transfer to the airport or your overnight hotel.
