Day 1
Lake Manyara National Park is a scenic and diverse wildlife destination located in northern Tanzania, at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Though relatively small in size (about 330 square kilometers), the park is renowned for its rich ecosystems and high concentration of wildlife.
The park is dominated by the shallow alkaline Lake Manyara, which covers a large portion of its area and attracts a wide variety of birdlife. It is especially famous for its seasonal flocks of flamingos that gather along the lake’s shores, creating a striking pink horizon.
One of the most distinctive features of Lake Manyara National Park is its unique combination of habitats, including lush groundwater forests, open grasslands, acacia woodlands, and swamps. This diversity supports a wide range of animals such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, hippos, and various primates.
