04:30 AM – Departure from Kigali: A 2.5-hour drive north through the misty highlands of Musanze.

07:00 AM – Briefing at Kinigi Park Headquarters: Register and meet your park rangers. While you wait, enjoy traditional coffee and the Intore dance performances.

08:00 AM – Start of the Trek: Unlike gorillas, golden monkeys usually inhabit the lower bamboo zones. This often makes the trek shorter and less strenuous, typically lasting 1 to 3 hours.

09:00 AM – One Hour of Observation: Once the troop is located, you will spend an hour watching them leap through bamboo branches, forage for shoots, and interact in large groups (sometimes over 100 individuals).

12:00 PM – Enjoy a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant to refuel after the hike.

02:00 PM – Cultural Visit or Return: Depending on your energy, you can visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund or begin the scenic drive back.

05:00 PM – Arrival in Kigali: Drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
