To the Red Cliffs of Samburu National Reserve

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive north from Nairobi, gradually leaving behind the city and entering the striking, semi-arid landscapes of Samburu. Upon arrival at your lodge or camp, you’ll settle in for lunch and a bit of relaxation before heading out on your first afternoon game drive. Samburu is known for its unique wildlife, including species rarely seen elsewhere such as Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and the long-necked gerenuk.

The following day is dedicated to exploring this remote and beautiful region. With both morning and afternoon game drives, you’ll traverse riverine forests and open plains along the Ewaso Nyiro River, encountering elephants, lions, and an abundance of birdlife. The quieter, less crowded nature of Samburu offers a more intimate and authentic safari experience.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Rhino Experience and Chimpanzee Sanctuary

After breakfast, you’ll journey south to the renowned Ol Pejeta Conservancy, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. This private conservancy is one of Kenya’s leading conservation success stories and home to the largest population of black rhinos in East Africa.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Rhino Sanctuary and the Chimpanzee Sanctuary—the only place in Kenya where you can see rescued chimpanzees. A truly special highlight here is the chance to learn about and potentially see Najin and Fatu, the last two remaining northern white rhinos on Earth, protected under constant watch. Later, enjoy a game drive across the conservancy’s rolling plains, where you may spot lions, elephants, buffalo, and an incredible variety of wildlife.

As you continue the drive, the scenery shifts beautifully, with rolling highlands giving way to expansive valley views dotted with farms, villages, and distant escarpments.
