Day 2
Mokoro Journey into the Khwai Floodplains
Mokoro Journey into the Khwai Floodplains
Wake early to the gentle sounds of the Delta and enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast at camp before setting out on a full day of mokoro exploration within the quieter, reed-lined channels of Khwai. Guided silently by a local poler, you glide through narrow waterways inaccessible to motorboats, moving slowly through one of the most peaceful corners of the Okavango.
This is a day focused on stillness and detail: water lilies opening in the morning light, reed frogs calling from papyrus banks, and the soft ripple of your mokoro cutting through glassy channels. Elephants may cross ahead of you, while antelope emerge unexpectedly from the reeds along the water’s edge. The experience feels intimate and deeply connected to the rhythms of the Delta.
Return to camp in the late afternoon for a chance to relax and unwind. Enjoy the calm atmosphere of the floodplains, watch wildlife moving quietly nearby, and settle into the slower pace of the wilderness before dinner under the stars.

Day 3
Transition to Mababe - Deep Water Exploration
Transition to Mababe - Deep Water Exploration
After breakfast, depart by boat through a network of connecting channels toward the remote and untamed landscapes of Mababe Depression, one of the wilder and lesser-travelled regions of the Delta system. The journey itself becomes a full-day water safari.
As you arrive in Mababe, the scenery opens dramatically into expansive floodplains framed by mopane woodland and seasonal waterways. The atmosphere here feels raw and untouched, with vast open spaces and very little human presence. In the afternoon, continue with a slow motorized boat exploration along the edges of reed beds and shallow channels.
Expect sightings of large buffalo herds coming to drink, elephants moving in family groups through the water, and abundant birdlife including herons, storks, and kingfishers layered across the floodplains. As sunset settles over the waterways, return to camp for a relaxed dinner under the open African sky, surrounded by the sounds of the wilderness and the glow of the fire.

Day 4
Full Water Immersion in Mababe – Channels & Hidden Lagoons
Full Water Immersion in Mababe – Channels & Hidden Lagoons
Begin the day with an early breakfast at camp before setting out on a peaceful mokoro excursion through the deeper waterways and hidden lagoons of Mababe Depression. Moving silently through untouched channels, you glide between towering papyrus walls where the only sound is the gentle dip of the paddle and the distant calls of birds echoing across the water.
The morning offers a more intimate perspective of the Delta, revealing smaller details often missed at faster pace water lilies drifting in still lagoons, tiny reed frogs hidden among papyrus stems, and wildlife quietly approaching the water’s edge. Return to camp during the heat of the day for time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before heading out again in the afternoon on a motorized boat safari.
As the sun begins to set, guests can unwind with drinks before dinner, taking in the tranquil atmosphere and the sounds of the bush on their first evening.
