Day 1
The 4:00 AM start is part of the adventure itself. As Uganda awakens, you’ll drive through quiet towns and open farmland beneath skies shifting from deep violet to amber. Along the way, your guide will share stories about the park, its wildlife, and the communities living alongside Africa’s great Nile River.
The northern bank of Murchison Falls NP is one of Uganda’s best game-viewing areas, home to large elephant herds, resident lion prides, rare Rothschild giraffes, Cape buffaloes, and thousands of Uganda kob. Birdwatchers are also richly rewarded.
Top of Murchison Falls
A visit to Murchison Falls is incomplete without seeing the falls up close. From the viewpoint, the entire Nile River is forced through a 7-metre rocky gorge before plunging 43 metres into the “Devil’s Cauldron” below, creating a dramatic display of white water, mist, and thunderous sound. The breathtaking views over the savannah and Nile Valley make this one of East Africa’s most photographed natural landmarks.
