Explore Samburu National Reserve

You’ll spend a full day exploring Samburu National Reserve on both morning and afternoon game drives, soaking in the raw beauty of northern Kenya’s wilderness.

The life-giving waters of the Ewaso Nyiro River cut through this semi-arid landscape, drawing in a rich variety of wildlife including elephants, lions, leopards, and an impressive range of bird species.

Midday, you’ll pause for a picnic lunch set in the wild—an immersive moment surrounded by nature—before continuing your afternoon game drive into the golden light of late day. As the sun sets, you’ll return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay under the African sky.

Samburu to Nairobi

After an early breakfast, you’ll set out for a final morning game drive in Samburu National Reserve, depending on the timing of your entry the previous day. This last drive offers a final chance to spot wildlife along the riverbanks and open savannah before you depart.

Later, you’ll begin your journey back to Nairobi, enjoying scenic views of Kenya’s changing landscapes along the way—from arid northern plains to greener highlands as you approach the capital. Arrival is expected in the afternoon.

Depending on traffic and any stops en route, you’ll be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or at the airport for your onward flight, bringing your private Samburu safari experience to a close.
