Kampala / Entebbe – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Evening Game Drive in Murchison Falls

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe, heading north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino tracking experience on foot. Accompanied by rangers, you observe White Rhinos in their natural habitat while learning about Uganda’s rhino conservation efforts.

After lunch, continue to Murchison Falls National Park, arriving in the late afternoon for an evening game drive across the northern savannah plains. During the cooler hours before sunset, you may spot lions, giraffes, elephants, and other wildlife as they become more active. Later, proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise

After an early breakfast, enjoy a sunrise game drive across the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park, the park’s prime wildlife viewing area. Explore savannah, woodland, and riverine habitats in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest, warthogs, leopards, and a variety of birdlife.

After the drive, return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch before heading to Paraa for the famous Nile boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls. Along the riverbanks, spot hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and numerous bird species, including African fish eagles and kingfishers, with a chance of seeing the elusive shoebill stork.

As the boat nears the falls, witness the Nile forcing through a narrow gorge before plunging 45 metres below in a dramatic display of spray and thunder. Afterwards, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Morning Game Drive – Top of the Falls – Return to Kampala / Entebbe

After an early breakfast, you depart for a final morning game drive through the park. This additional safari session provides another excellent opportunity to search for wildlife missed on previous drives and to experience the savannah at sunrise once more.
Following the game drive, you proceed to the Top of the Falls viewpoint. Here, the full force of the Victoria Nile squeezes through a narrow rock cleft only eight metres wide before exploding into the gorge below. The viewpoint offers spectacular photography opportunities and one of Uganda’s most iconic natural scenes.
After visiting the falls, you begin the return journey south toward Kampala or Entebbe, stopping en route for lunch.
Arrival is expected in the late afternoon or evening depending on traffic and final drop-off location.
