Olduvai gorge to serengeti national park
After breakfast, you will depart toward Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most important archaeological and paleoanthropological sites, often called the “Cradle of Humankind.” This famous gorge is renowned for providing some of the earliest evidence of human evolution.
Olduvai Gorge became internationally known through the discoveries of archaeologists Louis Leakey and Mary Leakey, who uncovered ancient fossils and stone tools dating back nearly two million years. Significant findings included remains of early human ancestors such as Homo habilis and Australopithecus boisei.
Stretching about 48 kilometers, the gorge was formed through erosion over thousands of years, exposing layers of volcanic ash and sediment rich in prehistoric fossils. Visitors can explore the museum, visit excavation sites, and learn about early human history and the evolution of stone tools. After the visit, continue to Serengeti National Park for an afternoon game drive, followed by dinner and overnight stay.
