Johannesburg - Transfer to Kruger Park - Afternoon Game Drive

You'll be picked up and leave Johannesburg in an aircon microbus with our experienced Kruger Park driver/guide. Travel east across the Highveld farmlands and down the Valley towards Nelspruit, the capital of Mpumalanga province. After a lunch stop, get your cameras ready and enter southern Kruger Park for the first exciting game drive. You will be travelling through lightly wooded bush and you can expect to see antelope, giraffe and possibly elephant. Before sunset, drive a short distance to Sabie River Bush Lodge where we will have our overnight stay. Book into a lodge room or en suite safari tent with aircon and modern furnishings. Time to have a swim then relax on the deck looking across the extensive Sabie River, hoping to see some hippos or crocodiles. You can order a drink before dinner in the Gecko Lapa Restaurant which offers a menu for a 3 course dinner.

Full Day in Kruger Park - 3 Safari Drives

Have an early start with a quick cup of coffee, board the safari vehicle then head into Kruger Park for your early morning game drive. Travel through bushveld areas and probably along the river looking for Big Five species ( lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo). The Sabie River is a dominant feature of southern Kruger and travelling along the banks can be very exciting. After about 3 hours, stop at a camp where your guide will provide breakfast packs and allow you time to relax. Continue on the mid-morning drive along a different route or to sightings reported recently. Arrive at Skukuza and book a chalet with aircon and screens over the windows to prevent insects. At approximately 4.00 pm, board the park's safari vehicle equipped with spotlights for a sunset drive and a chance to see predators or other nocturnal species such as hyena. Your guide will arrange dinner in the Cattle Baron Bistro, well-known for its juicy steaks. Then walk back to your chalet under the starlit sky.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast on the deck at Satara then visit the curio shop. Continue on the mid-morning drive which goes past Nsemani Dam and the Timbarvati River to Orpen exit gate. Travel to Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge and check in an en suite chalet with aircon. Explore the lodge, have a swim and then enjoy lunch in the gardens. Later, board the open safari vehicle for an evening game drive stopping en-route for "sundowners". Return to the lodge for dinner usually served in the boma with campfire which is a highlight of the safari experience. Spend the night listening to jackals or other nocturnal animals.
