Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Sept Safaris and comfortably transferred to your accommodation in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s renowned northern safari circuit. Upon arrival at your lodge or hotel, you can relax after your journey, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, and prepare for the exciting adventures that await you in the days ahead.

Depending on your arrival time, you may also have the opportunity to explore the vibrant city of Arusha and its nearby attractions. You can experience the local culture, visit colorful markets, interact with friendly locals, sample authentic Tanzanian cuisine, or simply unwind while taking in the beautiful views of Mount Meru and the surrounding landscapes. This first day offers the perfect introduction to Tanzania before beginning your unforgettable safari experience.

Day 2

From Arusha to the Elephants Paradise-Tarangire National Park

In the morning, you will be picked up from your accommodation in Arusha by your personal safari guide and depart for Tarangire National Park, travelling across gently rolling Maasai plains scattered with acacia trees.

Along the way, you may see Maasai people dressed in their colourful traditional clothing walking beside the road, riding bicycles, herding cattle, or driving donkey carts. The park is famous for its large elephant herds and is also home to a wide variety of wildlife species.

From the open roof of your safari vehicle, you will explore the seasonal swamps, savannah, and the life-giving Tarangire River while searching for animals such as zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and giraffes, among many others.

After an extensive game drive, you will continue to one of our selected mid-range partner lodges, where you will enjoy dinner at the lodge restaurant and spend the night in a comfortable and spacious room.

From Karatu to the Endless Plain-Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, you'll depart for the most famous national park in the world. The drive itself, although long, is spectacular.

This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in the local language, "endless plains."

The park has 6,900 sq miles (18,000 sq km) and for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon defying your senses and perception of distances.

It is the home of the Great Migration where 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes cross annually. As for big cats and large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, with many television scenes like the famous River Crossings having been filmed in this park.

Day 4

Today, you will head out early on your morning game drive for a chance to witness a magnificent African sunrise in the bush. You will head out after a cup of coffee and experience the wilderness and its magnificent creatures as they wake up among the dew-covered grasses.

Later, you will have your full breakfast at the park without forgetting to enjoy lunch in the middle of the park.

In the afternoon, you will head out once more for another chance to explore the plains in search of African wildlife as you exit the park.

Day 5

Rise and shine! Today begins with an early morning departure to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Your destination is the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Upon reaching the crater rim, you will descend the steep road into the 600-meter-deep caldera, where a remarkable variety of wildlife, open grasslands, birdlife, and a beautiful soda lake await you.

This massive collapsed volcano is home to more than 25,000 mammals, including the Big Five, spotted hyenas, and over 500 species of birds found throughout the area.

After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch on the crater floor, you will continue to Mto wa Mbu, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

After breakfast, you will drive to your final destination on this epic safari Lake Manyara National Park. This is a relatively small but diverse park, 120km west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake.

It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons, and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On your exploration of the park, you will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants, and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees.

The park is known for its diverse landscapes, not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab-dotted cliffs. After lunch, you will head back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the late afternoon and take your flight to Zanzibar.

After breakfast at around 7:30 am, you will be picked up by your guide. You'll enjoy the ride to the island on a traditional dhow. You will learn how this small island gained its name and explore the place that is home to more than 50 tortoises, some over 100 years old. After discovering the island and its history, you'll take the opportunity to swim in the clear waters off the coast amongst tropical and colourful fish.

Later, you will proceed with the Spice Tour which takes 3 hours. You will be privileged to learn about tropical fruits, spices and herbs, and a few of the uncommon types of different plants from various vegetation.

On the tour, you can also hopefully see spices such as curry, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, pepper, tamarind, ginger, menthol, Zanzibar cloves, and numerous different spices and herbs offered by the Sultan of Oman over the Indian Ocean. Later, you will be taken to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
