1-Day Akagera Big Five Game Drive

• You'll be collected from the airport.

At 5:00 am, you'll depart from your city hotel for Akagera National Park. A brief stop is planned en route for a restroom break at Imigongo Restaurant and Art Centre. Enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills and vibrant countryside, heading east to Akagera National Park, Central Africa’s largest protected wetland. The park, named after the meandering Akagera River, is a haven for wildlife and one of Rwanda’s premier conservation success stories.

At 8:30 am, you will embark on a thrilling game drive in search of the iconic Big Five, lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and Cape buffalo, along with giraffes, zebras, warthogs, waterbucks, Topis, and countless bird species. Explore Akagera’s diverse habitats, from open savannah's and acacia woodlands to scenic lakeshores.

At 1:00 pm, you will enjoy a delightful lunch at Mihindi Café inside the park. Afterward, continue your game drive before exiting from the North Gate, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
