05:00 AM, Early Pick-Up in Kigali
Our driver guide will meet you at your hotel in Kigali. Board the comfortable, 4x4 safari vehicle equipped with a charging system and cold water, and begin the scenic 2.5-hour drive eastward through Rwanda's rolling countryside.
8:30 AM, The Northbound Game Drive Begins
Re-embark on your 4x4 safari vehicle and begin a long, immersive game drive heading toward the northern section of the park.
12:00 PM – Picnic Lunch
Pause at a designated, secure hilltop picnic site offering panoramic views over the lake system and the distant hills of Tanzania.
01:00 PM, descend onto the open savanna plains of the Kilala Valley in the north. This is the prime grazing ground for large herds of buffaloes, zebras, topis, defassa waterbucks, and elands. Keep a sharp eye on the acacia thickets for Akagera’s apex predators lions and leopards as well as the black and white rhinos reintroduced to these plains.
