Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your safari adventure begins as you leave Arusha and drive toward Tarangire National Park, a beautiful wilderness of giant baobabs, open savannah, seasonal swamps, and the life-giving Tarangire River. This river draws wildlife from across the park, making Tarangire one of the best places in northern Tanzania to watch animals gather in impressive numbers, especially during the dry season. The park is famous for its elephant families, and you may also spot giraffes, bushbuck, hartebeest, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, and, with luck, predators such as lions or leopards. From the open roof of your safari vehicle, every sighting feels vivid and close, with endless opportunities for photography and quiet moments of wonder. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch in the park with coffee and soft drinks before continuing your game drive into the afternoon. Later, you’ll head to your lodge for dinner and overnight, carrying the excitement of your first safari day with you.

Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you’ll climb through the crater highlands and continue toward the Serengeti, one of the most legendary wildlife destinations on Earth. Along the way, the scenery shifts dramatically, from green highland slopes to vast open plains that seem to stretch forever. A stop at the rim offers spectacular views over the Ngorongoro landscape before the road carries you into the Serengeti itself. The name Serengeti is often linked to endless plains, and the first glimpse of this immense ecosystem is unforgettable. Home to more than two million wildebeest as well as zebra, gazelles, and a remarkable range of predators, the park is one of Africa’s great safari stages. Depending on the season, you may witness herds with young calves, predators following the migration, or quieter but equally thrilling wildlife encounters scattered across the grasslands. After an exciting game drive, you’ll continue to camp for dinner and overnight in a tented setting beneath the wide Serengeti sky.

Today is all about exploring the vast plains of Serengeti and making the most of one of Africa’s greatest safari experiences. You will have the day to search for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and large herds of wildebeest and zebra spread across the open savannah. Serengeti is world renowned for its remarkable concentration of wildlife and its dramatic predator action, making every game drive full of anticipation and excitement.

You can enjoy the day in a way that suits your safari style. If you want to head out early for the best chance of spotting predators, spend the full day in the bush with a picnic lunch, or enjoy a more relaxed pace before continuing toward the Ngorongoro Highlands, the plan can be shaped around your experience. Later in the day, continue to the lodge near the crater for dinner and overnight, where cooler air and beautiful views set the scene for the next morning’s crater adventure.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

Your final safari day begins with an early drive to Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most breathtaking natural wonders. Descending into the crater feels like entering a hidden world surrounded by towering volcanic walls and filled with wildlife. The crater is known for its excellent game viewing and offers one of the best chances to see a wide variety of animals in a single day, including lions, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, hippos, elephants, and, with luck, the rare black rhino.

After a memorable game drive and picnic lunch on the crater floor, ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha, where your safari comes to an end. This final day is the perfect finish to a journey filled with adventure, scenery, and unforgettable wildlife moments.
