Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, your guide will collect you and drive you to Tarangire National Park, a striking landscape of giant baobabs, sweeping savannah, and the life-giving Tarangire River. During the dry season, this river becomes a magnet for wildlife, drawing impressive elephant herds along with giraffe, bushbuck, hartebeest, zebra, and buffalo. With the open roof above you, your first real day in the bush feels vivid and full of possibility, and every bend in the track could reveal another memorable sighting.
Tarangire is also a paradise for bird lovers, and its ancient trees give the park a timeless, almost mythical feel. After a picnic lunch inside the park, you’ll continue your game drive, always alert for predators such as lion or leopard that often follow the great concentration of prey. By late afternoon, you’ll leave the park and travel to Karatu, where a comfortable lodge, a good dinner, and a warm evening welcome you after a thrilling first safari day.

Karatu to Serengeti National Park
Karatu to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you’ll climb into the cooler highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where changing scenery makes the drive itself part of the adventure. There is time to stop and admire the breathtaking view over the Ngorongoro Crater before continuing toward the Serengeti. As the road carries you onward, the landscape gradually opens into the famous plains that have made this park one of the world’s great safari destinations and one of Africa’s most iconic wild spaces.
The Serengeti is home to extraordinary wildlife year-round, but it is perhaps most famous for the annual migration, when huge numbers of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope move in search of fresh grazing. Depending on the season, you may witness one of nature’s greatest spectacles or enjoy equally rewarding sightings of predators and resident game. After a picnic lunch and an exciting game drive, you’ll continue to your tented camp in Central Serengeti for dinner and overnight under the vast African sky.

Day 4
Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Today is devoted entirely to the Serengeti, giving you the chance to explore one of Africa’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries in much more depth and at your own pace. From impala and buffalo to crocodile and hippo, the variety of animals here is extraordinary, and the wide-open landscapes make game viewing especially rewarding. There is always a sense that something dramatic could happen at any moment, whether it is a distant herd on the move, a cheetah scanning the plains, or lions resting under an acacia tree.
You can choose the rhythm that suits you best, perhaps with early morning and late afternoon game drives and time to relax at camp over lunch, or with a full-day safari and picnic out in the park. Spending a full day in the Serengeti gives you a far better chance to enjoy both iconic wildlife sightings and the quieter moments that stay with you long after the journey ends. It is the kind of day that reminds you why a safari in Tanzania feels truly life-changing.

Day 5
Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you’ll leave the Serengeti and wind your way toward the Ngorongoro Crater, with more beautiful scenery and wildlife sightings accompanying you along the route. The journey is rewarding in itself, but the real highlight is the afternoon spent inside the crater, a vast collapsed volcano whose steep walls protect one of the most extraordinary wildlife concentrations in all of East Africa. Even the descent into the caldera feels thrilling and dramatic.
On the crater floor, open plains, woodland pockets, lakes, and swamps create a rich mosaic of habitats supporting wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. This is also one of the best places in Tanzania to search for the endangered black rhino, while large bull elephants and predators add to the excitement of every sighting. After the game drive, you’ll continue to Karatu for the night, where a comfortable lodge offers the perfect place to unwind after a dramatic and rewarding day.

Day 6
Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park
This morning, you’ll drive to Lake Manyara National Park, the final destination of your safari and a park that feels wonderfully different from the others you have visited. Though smaller in size, it is rich in scenery and contrast, with dense evergreen forest, open areas, hot springs, and the dramatic wall of the Great Rift Valley rising above the lake. In season, the shallow alkaline waters attract thousands of birds and add yet another layer of beauty to the landscape.
Lake Manyara is famous for its large baboon troops, elephants moving through the forest, and the tree-climbing lions that have made the park well known across Africa. As you enjoy your final game drive and picnic lunch, there is still every chance for memorable wildlife moments before the safari comes to an end. Afterward, you’ll be dropped off at your chosen location, whether in Arusha or at the airport, carrying with you the colors, sounds, and unforgettable highlights of six remarkable days in northern Tanzania.
