Your adventure begins with a domestic flight from Antananarivo to the remote coastal town of Maroantsetra, located on Madagascar’s lush northeast coast and considered the gateway to the Masoala Peninsula. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your local team and transferred to the harbor for a scenic boat journey along Antongil Bay toward Farankaraina Reserve.
The boat transfer takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on sea conditions and offers beautiful views of the coastline, rainforest-covered hills, and fishing villages. Upon arrival, settle into your lodge surrounded by pristine rainforest.
In the afternoon, enjoy your first guided walk in Farankaraina Reserve, one of the best places in Madagascar to observe the elusive Aye-Aye lemur in its natural habitat. The reserve is also home to several species of chameleons, frogs, endemic birds, and lush primary rainforest vegetation.

Spend two full days exploring the pristine rainforest of Farankaraina Reserve with experienced local guides. Activities include daytime rainforest walks searching for bamboo lemurs, reptiles, endemic birds, chameleons, and unique flora. After breakfast, continue by boat to Masoala National Park, Madagascar’s largest protected rainforest and one of the world’s richest biodiversity hotspots. The scenic transfer across Antongil Bay takes approximately 1-2 hours and may offer sightings of dolphins or humpback whales during the migration season.

Enjoy two days discovering the extraordinary biodiversity of Masoala National Park. Guided rainforest walks lead through lush primary forest rich in wildlife including red ruffed lemurs, white-fronted brown lemurs, colorful chameleons, frogs, and numerous endemic birds. Night walks reveal Madagascar’s fascinating nocturnal wildlife. Return by boat to Maroantsetra, a transfer of approximately 2 to 3 hours across Antongil Bay. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing afternoon, or do a short visit of the town of Maroantsetra, visit a craft market for souvenirs.

Morning flight back to Antananarivo. Upon arrival, continue by road to Antsirabe through the scenic Central Highlands. The drive takes approximately 4 to 5 hours through rice fields, traditional villages, and mountainous landscapes.

Drive west toward Morondava on Madagascar’s western coast. This long but scenic journey takes approximately 9 to 10 hours and showcases changing landscapes from highland scenery to dry western plains, on the way, you will stop for lunch in the town of Miandrivazo.

Drive approximately 2.5 hours north to Kirindy Reserve with a stop at the famous Avenue of the Baobabs. In the afternoon, explore Kirindy’s dry deciduous forest known for its rich wildlife including sifakas, giant jumping rats, reptiles, and nocturnal species. A night walk offers opportunities to search for mouse lemurs and the elusive fossa.

Continue north to Bekopaka, gateway to Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park. This adventurous journey takes approximately 8 to 10 hours including ferry crossings over the Tsiribihina and Manambolo Rivers. You will then arrive in Bekopaka village in the late afternoon.

Spend two days exploring the spectacular limestone formations of Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Activities include guided hikes through the Small and Grand Tsingy with hanging bridges, narrow canyons, caves, and breathtaking viewpoints over the sharp limestone pinnacles. You will also enjoy a traditional pirogue excursion on the Manambolo River through impressive gorges and caves.
