Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you'll be met by our professional safari guide and transferred to Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable NP. The journey takes you through the scenic landscapes of Rwanda and across the border into southwestern Uganda, offering spectacular views of rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and traditional villages.
Bwindi Impenetrable NP is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its ancient rainforest, exceptional biodiversity, and nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorilla population. The park is home to over 120 mammal species, hundreds of bird species, colorful butterflies, and unique plant life, making it one of Africa's most remarkable wildlife destinations.
As you approach the park, expect breathtaking scenery, fresh mountain air, and a sense of anticipation for the gorilla trekking experience awaiting you the following day. Upon arrival at the lodge, you can relax and enjoy the tranquil forest surroundings and stunning views.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before beginning your gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Home to nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas, Bwindi offers one of Africa's most remarkable wildlife encounters. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the assigned gorilla family, with one hour spent observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat once located.
Following the trek and lunch, depart Bwindi and proceed to Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park. The scenic drive, including border crossing formalities at either the Cyanika or Katuna/Gatuna border, typically takes approximately 4 hours, depending on the sector of Bwindi visited and border clearance times. Along the way, enjoy beautiful views of the rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and picturesque countryside that characterize the Great Lakes region.

After an early breakfast, you'll transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by the rangers. Thereafter, embark on an unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure in Volcanoes National Park, one of Africa’s most renowned conservation areas and home to the endangered mountain gorillas famously studied by Dian Fossey.
The trekking experience in Rwanda is often enhanced by breathtaking views of the Virunga Volcanoes and well-maintained hiking trails, offering a unique contrast to the dense rainforest environment of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park experienced the previous day. This rare opportunity allows you to appreciate the distinct habitats, landscapes, and conservation approaches of two of East Africa’s premier gorilla destinations.
After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation and reflection on the extraordinary wildlife encounters and memorable experiences.

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin a scenic drive back to Kigali. If time permits and depending on your departure flight schedule, you may opt for an exciting Golden Monkey Trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park at an additional cost. This unique activity offers the opportunity to encounter the park's playful and endangered golden monkeys as they leap through the bamboo forests of the Virunga Mountains.
Continue to Kigali and enjoy a city tour featuring the Kigali Genocide Memorial, providing valuable insight into Rwanda's history. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before proceeding to Kigali International Airport in time for your onward flight, marking the end of an extraordinary primate safari through Rwanda and Uganda.
