After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a full morning of wildlife viewing across the expansive crater floor.
Covering approximately 100 square miles, the crater floor is dotted with permanent water sources and supports an estimated 30,000 animals, naturally enclosed by the steep volcanic walls. This unique ecosystem offers excellent opportunities to spot the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard—alongside many other species.
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact and unbroken caldera, with walls rising about 610 meters above the floor. Thanks to year-round grass and water, wildlife viewing is exceptional in all seasons. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the famous hippo pool before continuing your game drive.
