Kigali – Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast, depart Kigali and head to Nyungwe Forest National Park with a drive through Rwanda’s scenic countryside. Enjoy breathtaking views of the rolling hills, tea plantations and local villages along the way.
On arrival at your hotel – Mantis Kivu Marina Bay, you will check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure, preparing for the next day’s adventure.

Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walkway

Wake up early for breakfast, your driver guide will transfer you to Nyungwe Forest National Park for a briefing before embarking on an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience. Led by experienced rangers and park guides, hike through the rainforest in search of habituated chimpanzee families.
The trek takes approximately 2 to 4 hours or more depending on the movement of the chimpanzees and where they spent their previous night. Spend one hour in their presence watching them play, feed and groom each other. Return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon return to the park for the famous Canopy Walkway Adventure, offering spectacular views over the ancient rainforest and opportunities to spot several bird species as well as primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons among others. Later return to your lodge for an evening of rest, dinner and overnight stay.

Gorilla Trekking & Dian Fossey Museum Visit

Wake up early for breakfast, drive to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking and the right way to behave while in the presence of the gorillas. Led by a ranger guide, head into the forest searching for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 2 to 5 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night.
Spend one hour in their presence as you watch them play, feed and groom each. Take as many photos and videos as you wish, later return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon of rest. Later, go for a visit to the Dian Fossey Museum and learn about her conservation legacy and efforts to protect mountain gorillas.

Golden Monkey Trekking & Departure

Enjoy early breakfast before heading to the Park Headquarters for a golden monkey trekking. Meet these endangered primates in the bamboo forest where they thrive, spend an hour watching me play, feed and groom each and jump from one tree branch to another.
Later, you will bid farewell to Volcanoes National Park and embark on a journey to Kigali where you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
