Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our friendly representative and transferred to your family hotel in Arusha.

Depending on arrival time, you may relax at the pool, enjoy the gardens or take a short walk in town. Your guide will provide a relaxed safari briefing, explaining what to expect in a family-friendly way.

This is a rest day designed to help children recover from travel before the adventure begins.

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s best parks for family safaris due to its high wildlife density and short driving routes.

Enjoy a relaxed game drive where children can spot elephants, giraffes, zebras and baboons almost immediately. The park is famous for its giant baobab trees and large elephant herds, which often gather near the Tarangire River.

A picnic lunch is served inside the park in a safe, designated area before continuing your afternoon safari.

In the evening, transfer to your lodge in Mto wa Mbu for dinner and rest.

Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Highlands

After breakfast, head to Lake Manyara National Park for a shorter but highly scenic game drive.

This park is compact and perfect for families, offering a variety of wildlife including elephants, giraffes, hippos and large troops of baboons. With luck, you may also spot the famous tree-climbing lions resting in acacia trees.

After your game drive, continue to the Ngorongoro Highlands, where you can enjoy cooler temperatures and beautiful landscapes. Children often enjoy the lodge surroundings and open spaces here.

Ngorongoro Crater Safari

Today is one of the highlights of your family adventure. After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day safari.

The crater is one of the best places in Africa to see wildlife quickly, making it ideal for children. Expect sightings of lions, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, wildebeests and possibly black rhinos.

The compact nature of the crater means less driving and more wildlife viewing, keeping the experience engaging for younger travellers.

Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool before ascending back to the crater rim.
