Depart Entebbe in the early morning for the scenic overland drive southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest — one of Africa's oldest and most biodiverse rainforests. The journey takes approximately 8–9 hours, passing through rolling hills, equatorial farmlands, and the dramatic landscape of Uganda's southwest. En route, enjoy a lunch stop at one of the local towns. Arrive at Rushaga sector in the late afternoon. Check in, freshen up, and receive a briefing from your guide on what to expect during tomorrow's gorilla trek. Relax around camp as the sounds of the forest surround you.

Full Gorilla Trekking Day

Rise early for the most extraordinary wildlife encounter on Earth. After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a trekking briefing. Expert rangers will lead your group deep into the primeval rainforest in search of one of the habituated mountain gorilla families. Treks can last anywhere from 1–6 hours depending on the gorillas' movements — once found, you are rewarded with a precious one-hour observation in their natural habitat, watching silverbacks, mothers, and playful infants at close range. After the trek, return to camp for lunch and rest. Optional afternoon walk through a local community or forest trail.

Day 3

Bwindi to Entebbe

Bwindi to Entebbe

Wake to the birdsong of the rainforest for a final morning in Bwindi. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and optional short nature walk near the lodge before checking out. Depart mid-morning for the return journey to Entebbe, retracing the highlands route northward. Stop for lunch en route and arrive in Entebbe by late afternoon or early evening, allowing time to freshen up before an onward flight or overnight stay in the city.
