Nairobi to Tsavo west National Park

Depart Nairobi early in a private, pop-up roof 4x4 or safari van. You will travel southeast along the Mombasa Highway. Arrive at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge just in time for a spectacular alfresco lunch overlooking the lodge's active waterhole. Head out into the park to spot roaming wildlife such as red-dust elephants, buffalo, lions, giraffes, and cheetahs. Return to the lodge for a hearty dinner, followed by relaxation or stargazing near the Chyulu Hills and overnight.

Embark on an early morning game drive to catch predators during their most active hours, then return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast. Travel to Mzima Springs, a massive natural oasis of crystal-clear spring water originating from Mount Kilimanjaro's snows. It features a submerged observation chamber where you can watch hippos and crocodiles swimming. Enjoy a packed lunch or return to the lodge for a midday break and a swim. Embark on another scenic game drive, stopping by landmarks like the Shetani Lava Flows or Poacher's Lookout. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
