Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transfer to the ferry terminal. Take the ferry to Dar es Salaam, then connect with the modern SGR fast train to Morogoro, a comfortable journey of about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Upon arrival, meet your professional safari guide and continue with a scenic 2-hour drive to Mikumi National Park.

This route is the best way to avoid the long drive from Dar es Salaam, making your journey faster and more comfortable. After arriving in Mikumi, enjoy an exciting evening game drive through the park. Keep your camera ready as you search for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, and possibly lions in their natural habitat.

As the sun sets over the African savannah, experience the beauty and wildlife that make Mikumi one of Tanzania’s most popular national parks. After the game drive, transfer to Camp Bastian or Mikumi Bandas for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive inside Mikumi National Park. The park is one of Tanzania’s most accessible wildlife destinations and is often compared to the Serengeti because of its wide-open plains and rich wildlife population. Spend the entire day exploring different areas of the park with your experienced guide searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while surrounded by nature. Continue your wildlife adventure during the afternoon as animals become more active around water sources and open grasslands. The beautiful landscapes and abundant wildlife provide excellent opportunities for photography. In the late afternoon, enjoy a final sunset game drive before returning to Camp Bastian or Mikumi Bandas for dinner and another relaxing overnight stay.

Maasai Walking Safari Morogoro Dar es Salaam Zanzibar

Begin your final day with breakfast before joining a guided walking safari with the Maasai community. During this cultural experience, learn about Maasai traditions, history, customs, and their unique way of life. Explore the surrounding area on foot and gain insight into one of East Africa’s most famous cultures. After the walking safari, return to the lodge for a short break before departing for Morogoro. Upon arrival, board the SGR fast train back to Dar es Salaam. At the railway station, your driver will meet you and transfer you to the ferry terminal, which is only a short distance away. Board the ferry back to Zanzibar and enjoy the final views of the coastline. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, transfer to your hotel, marking the end of your memorable 3-day Mikumi safari adventure.
