Nairobi to Masai Mara – Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast in Nairobi, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport for your scheduled light aircraft flight to the world-renowned Masai Mara. Enjoy breathtaking aerial views of the Great Rift Valley and the vast savannah plains as you fly into the reserve. Upon landing at the airstrip, you will be met by your camp’s safari guide and transferred to your lodge or camp, enjoying your first game viewing experience en route. After check-in and lunch, you will head out for an afternoon game drive in search of the Big Five and other wildlife that call the Mara home. Return to the camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Full Game Drive in Masai Mara – Game Drives & Exploration

Spend a full day exploring the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives, or opt for a full-day safari with packed lunch boxes. Early morning is the best time to spot predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards when they are most active. The vast plains are also home to elephants, giraffes, zebras, and an abundance of birdlife. If traveling during the migration season (typically July to October), you may witness the spectacular Great Migration as thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River. Optional activities such as a hot air balloon safari can also be arranged for a truly unforgettable experience. Return to the camp for meals and overnight.

Masai Mara – Cultural Experience & Game Viewing

After an early breakfast, depart for another rewarding game drive across different areas of the reserve, maximizing your chances of spotting unique wildlife encounters. Later in the day, you may visit a traditional Maasai village to learn about their rich culture, customs, and way of life (optional activity). Enjoy interactions with the Maasai people, including traditional dances and storytelling. In the afternoon, continue with another game drive or relax at the camp enjoying the serene surroundings. As the sun sets over the Mara plains, return to camp for dinner and overnight under the African sky.

Masai Mara to Nairobi – Departure

Enjoy an early morning breakfast at the camp, followed by a short game drive en route to the airstrip depending on your flight schedule. Board your light aircraft flight back to Nairobi, once again taking in the stunning views of the landscape below. Upon arrival at Wilson Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel or to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward journey.
