The route is surrounded by giant groundsels, lobelias, and other remarkable alpine plants that make this ecosystem unlike anywhere else in East Africa.
After 6–7 hours, you will reach Shipton Camp (4,200 m). You will have lunch in the camp spectacularly positioned beneath the rugged cliffs of Mount Kenya’s main peaks. Enjoy dinner and a well-earned rest as you prepare for the summit attempt ahead.
