Day 1

Your day begins very early in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport at around 3:30 AM. You will embark on a scenic drive through Rwanda's picturesque countryside to Volcanoes National Park, arriving in time for the mandatory ranger briefing at the park headquarters in Kinigi. During the briefing, you will be assigned a gorilla family and guided through the trekking rules and safety procedures. You will begin your trek through rainforest in search of the mountain gorillas. Depending on the location of the gorilla family, the trek can take anywhere from one to several hours. Once the gorillas are found, you will spend an hour observing them

After the trek, you will have lunch at a nearby lodge or restaurant. In the afternoon, you will begin your journey back to Kigali, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of an extraordinary gorilla trekking adventure.
