Day 3

After an early breakfast, depart the Masai Mara and drive toward Lake Nakuru, passing rolling farmlands and scenic Rift Valley escarpments. Arrive in Nakuru around midday, check in, and enjoy lunch before heading into the park for an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its alkaline lake that attracts flamingos and other water birds, as well as its strong populations of black and white rhinos. You may also spot Rothschild giraffes, buffalo, and tree-climbing lions in the surrounding woodland. Enjoy the contrasting scenery of acacia forest and lakeshore before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Begin the day with a relaxed breakfast and, if time allows, a short morning game drive to catch animals active in the early hours. This is a great opportunity to enjoy birdlife along the lake’s edge and take final photographs of rhinos grazing against the scenic backdrop. Later, depart Lake Nakuru and drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the early to mid-afternoon. The journey offers a final appreciation of Kenya’s diverse landscapes, from the Rift Valley floor to highland views.
