Ngorongoro crater

After an early morning breakfast, you'll set off for an extraordinary 8-hour journey to Ngorongoro Crater, a geological marvel that stands among the most incredible and renowned Natural Wonders worldwide. This colossal, unbroken caldera was formed when a colossal volcano erupted and crumbled around three million years ago.

Ngorongoro Crater shelters the highest concentration of large game animals in Africa, including the majestic Big Five and a diverse array of predators. It is a truly exceptional place, rightfully recognized on the UNESCO World Heritage List. As you descend into the crater, you'll find yourself in a vast expanse teeming with wildlife. The steep crater walls ascend from 400 to 610 meters above the crater floor, covering a base area of 264 square kilometers (with a diameter of 19 kilometers). In the afternoon, your journey will continue towards Arusha, where you'll enjoy an overnight stay and prepare for the adventures that await you on the following day.

Today, your journey takes you to Lake Eyasi, starting at around 5:30 a.m., accompanied by a packed breakfast. This day holds an authentic encounter with the Hadza community, known for their distinct cultural practices. You'll have the unique opportunity to join them in hunting activities, as they are skilled hunters and gatherers. The Hadza's traditional lifestyle involves hunting small game like dik-diks and gathering honey. Their dwellings are simple and easily constructed or abandoned. Communicating in a click language, the Hadza offers an immersive cultural experience.
