Upon arrival at Ivato International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax after your international flight or enjoy a short introduction to Madagascar's vibrant capital city.

Day 2

Flight to Morondava – Drive to Kirindy Forest – Night Walk

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Morondava.
Upon arrival, begin the scenic drive of approximately 2.5 hours to Kirindy Forest Reserve through western Madagascar's dry forests and baobab landscapes.
After checking into your lodge, enjoy an afternoon at leisure before embarking on an exciting guided night walk. Kirindy is one of Madagascar's finest reserves for observing nocturnal wildlife including mouse lemurs, giant jumping rats, chameleons, owls and numerous reptiles. The reserve is also famous as one of the best places to encounter the elusive Fosa.

Day 3

Early this morning, enjoy a guided walk through Kirindy Forest when wildlife activity is at its highest. Search for Verreaux's sifakas, Red-fronted Brown Lemurs, Giant Jumping Rats and, with some luck, the remarkable Fosa.
After lunch, drive back to Morondava.
Before sunset, visit the world-famous Avenue of the Baobabs, one of Madagascar's most iconic natural landmarks. The late afternoon light creates unforgettable photographic opportunities as the ancient baobab trees glow beneath the African sunset.

Today you travel south along Madagascar's remote western coastline to the peaceful fishing village of Belo sur Mer.
The journey takes approximately 3 to 4 hours along sandy coastal tracks, passing traditional Sakalava villages, salt flats, mangroves and beautiful coastal scenery.
Belo sur Mer is renowned for its traditional dhow boat builders and relaxed atmosphere. After checking into your hotel, spend the remainder of the day exploring the village or relaxing on the beach.

Day 5

After an early breakfast, continue south towards Ifaty via Manja.
This is one of Madagascar's most adventurous overland journeys, travelling through remote landscapes, dry forests, rivers and authentic Malagasy villages before reaching the beautiful beaches of Ifaty.
Although it is a long driving day of approximately 7 to 8 hours, the constantly changing scenery makes the journey particularly rewarding.
Arrive in Ifaty during the evening.

This morning, enjoy a guided walk through the famous Reniala Spiny Forest Reserve.
The spiny forest is one of Madagascar's most extraordinary ecosystems and exists nowhere else on Earth. During your walk you may encounter Ring-tailed Lemurs, Verreaux's Sifakas, Long-tailed Ground Rollers, Subdesert Mesites, colourful chameleons and the unique octopus trees and giant baobabs that characterize this remarkable habitat.
The afternoon is free to relax on Ifaty's beautiful white sand beaches, swim in the turquoise waters of the Mozambique Channel or simply enjoy the peaceful seaside atmosphere.

Optional activities include snorkeling on the coral reef, visiting local Vezo fishing villages, whale watching (seasonal), scuba diving or simply relaxing by the beach.
This day allows you to unwind before continuing inland toward Madagascar's spectacular national parks.

Ifaty-Zombitse Vohibasia National Park-Isalo

Depart after breakfast and drive north towards Isalo National Park.
En route, stop at Zombitse Vohibasia National Park for a guided walk. This transitional forest is one of Madagascar's premier birdwatching sites and is home to several rare endemic species including Appert's Tetraka, one of the island's most localized birds. Several lemur species and reptiles are also frequently encountered.
Continue to Isalo National Park, arriving late afternoon.

Guided hikes lead through dramatic sandstone canyons, natural swimming pools, palm-lined oases and breathtaking viewpoints. Along the way you may observe Ring-tailed Lemurs, Verreaux's Sifakas, Benson's Rock Thrush, endemic plants and impressive rock formations sculpted over millions of years.
Return to your hotel during the afternoon.

The drive passes through changing landscapes from dry savannah to lush rainforest, with opportunities to stop at colourful local markets and traditional villages.

After dinner, enjoy a guided night walk in search of mouse lemurs, chameleons, frogs and nocturnal insects.

Your guided walk offers excellent opportunities to observe Golden Bamboo Lemurs, Milne-Edwards' Sifakas, Red-bellied Lemurs, numerous endemic birds, orchids and colourful amphibians.
The dense rainforest and abundant wildlife make Ranomafana one of Madagascar's finest wildlife destinations.

Leave the rainforest behind as you continue north through the Malagasy Highlands.
Along the way, stop in Ambositra, Madagascar's capital of wood carving, where you can visit artisan workshops famous for their intricate Zafimaniry handicrafts.
Continue to Antsirabe, a charming colonial town well known for its thermal springs, colourful pousse-pousse rickshaws and gemstone workshops.
