Pick up in Nairobi and depart for Samburu National Reserve

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi city hotel or residence, driving north through Kenya's scenic central highlands with views of coffee, tea, and pineapple plantations. Cross the equator near Nanyuki before continuing towards the rugged landscapes of Samburu.

Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch and some relaxation.

In the afternoon, head out on your first game drive in Samburu National Reserve, renowned for its unique wildlife found north of the equator. Look out for the famous "Samburu Special Five" – the Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk – alongside elephants, lions, leopards, and a variety of birdlife.
