A Karibu Tena representative will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport and transfer you privately to your Arusha accommodation. Settle in, recover from your journey and meet your trip host for a relaxed briefing covering the flight arrangements, seasonal migration conditions, safari etiquette and practical questions. Dinner and drinking water are included. If your flight arrives late, the briefing will be shortened or moved to the following morning so you can rest.

After breakfast, transfer privately to Arusha Airport for your scheduled flight to Kogatende in Northern Serengeti. On arrival, meet your private safari guide and continue by 4x4 to Nyikani Migration Camp, approximately 25 minutes from the airstrip. After lunch and time to settle in, begin your first game drive across the northern plains and river corridors. Your guide will use recent field information to shape the route. River crossings and exact herd locations are never guaranteed, and flight times may change.

Begin your first complete day in Northern Serengeti with the freedom of a private vehicle. Your guide will assess recent herd reports, rainfall, river conditions and predator activity before choosing the most promising area. Explore open plains, woodland and the Mara River ecosystem, with a picnic lunch arranged when a full-day drive is the best option. The aim is not to chase a fixed checklist, but to observe migration behaviour patiently. Return to Nyikani Migration Camp for dinner and your second night.

Today is designed for patient positioning around the wider Mara River ecosystem. Depending on current conditions, your guide may spend time near known crossing points, explore quieter river bends or follow herds moving across the northern plains. You may take a picnic lunch into the field or return to camp for a midday break before an afternoon drive. No operator can schedule a river crossing, so the day remains flexible and honest. Return to the same camp for dinner, avoiding another checkout and transfer.

The migration is more than a river crossing. Spend another full day exploring Northern Serengeti for wildebeest and zebra herds, lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and other resident wildlife. Your private guide can revisit a productive area, wait longer at an unfolding sighting or change direction when new information arrives. A picnic lunch allows maximum time in the field when conditions justify it, while the five-night stay removes pressure to force every experience into one day. Return to camp for dinner.

The schedule remains private and adaptable, with lunch arranged around the chosen route. Return to Nyikani Migration Camp for your fifth and final night.

One Last Drive, Then Fly to Arusha
After breakfast, enjoy a short final game drive if the flight schedule allows, then transfer to Kogatende Airstrip for the scheduled flight to Arusha. On arrival, a Karibu Tena representative will transfer you to an Arusha hotel, Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport according to your onward plans. A light lunch will be provided in Arusha or packed according to the confirmed schedule. Flight times and routing may change and will be reconfirmed for your travel date. No accommodation is included tonight.
