Fly to Nelspruit & Private Guided Panorama Route Tour

This morning, a private transfer returns you to OR Tambo International for your short 55-minute flight to Nelspruit, (at an additional cost) gateway to the Mpumalanga highlands. On arrival, your private guide welcomes you for a full day along the spectacular Panorama Route — marvel at the Blyde River Canyon, one of the largest green canyons on earth, the striking Three Rondavels, the swirling potholes of Bourke's Luck and the endless views from God's Window. As the afternoon fades, you are transferred to Nut Grove Manor, an elegant country retreat where you overnight on a bed and breakfast basis, with the promise of Big Five country in the morning.

Big Five Safari in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve

After breakfast, a private road transfer takes you from Nut Grove Manor into the world-renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve, home to some of the finest Big Five viewing in Africa. Your base for the next three nights is Arathusa Safari Lodge, overlooking a busy waterhole where elephant, buffalo and antelope come down to drink. You stay on a fully inclusive basis, with all meals and twice-daily game drives in open-sided 4x4 vehicles, led by experienced rangers and trackers. Set out at dawn and again in the late afternoon in search of lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino — the Sabi Sand is especially famed for its extraordinary leopard sightings. Full Day on Safari Morning & Afternoon Game Drives

Wake to the sounds of the bush as your first full safari day begins. Set off at dawn on a morning game drive in an open-sided 4x4, when predators are most active and the light falls golden across the reserve. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast, then spend the middle of the day at leisure, cool off in the pool, watch elephant and buffalo drift down to the waterhole, or simply soak up the stillness of the bush. In the late afternoon, head out again with your ranger and tracker, pausing for sundowners before a spotlight search reveals the Sabi Sand's famous leopards after dark.

Your final full day in the Sabi Sand brings a change of pace and perspective. After the dawn game drive, join a guided optional bush walk with your ranger and experience the reserve on foot, tracks in the sand, birdsong overhead and the smaller wonders you would never notice from a vehicle. The afternoon is yours to unwind before one last drive through Big Five territory, pausing as the sun sinks low for a classic sundowner in the wilderness. As darkness falls, the spotlight sweeps for leopard, and you return to Arathusa for a farewell dinner beneath the African sky."

Farewell to the Bush Departure via Johannesburg
