Day 3
Explore the Nsefu area
Explore the Nsefu area
Today will be an early start as you head out for a full day trip to the Nsefu area - famous for predators.
you will take a packed breakfast and enjoy a picnic lunch later in the day.
“The real-life setting of the BBC’s Kingdom—where leopards, lions, wild dogs and hyenas compete along the wild banks of the Luangwa River.”
It is especially renowned for excellent leopard sightings, abundant predators, wild dogs, riverine landscapes and relatively remote wilderness
The Nsefu Sector of South Luangwa is now particularly famous as the setting for the BBC wildlife series Kingdom, narrated by Sir David Attenborough. Filmed entirely in Nsefu over five years, the series follows four competing predator families:
Olimba’s leopard family
Rita’s lion pride
Storm’s wild-dog pack
Tenta’s hyena clan
The BBC filmed the animals’ births, hunts, territorial battles and family struggles, earning the programme comparisons to a wildlife version of Game of Thrones.
