Nairobi to Samburu

Depart Nairobi and journey north through the scenic central highlands, passing lush farmlands and crossing the Equator en route to Samburu National Reserve. Arrive at your safari lodge in time for lunch and a short rest before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Samburu is renowned for its unique wildlife, including the Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk, as well as elephants, lions, leopards, and a variety of bird species. After breakfast, depart Samburu and travel south through the scenic Laikipia Plateau to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, home to Sweetwaters. The conservancy is renowned for its thriving populations of black and white rhinos, the Big Five, and abundant plains game. You may also visit the chimpanzee sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya, where rescued chimpanzees are cared for in a protected environment.
