Nairobi to Samburu

Depart Nairobi and journey north through the scenic Central highlands, passing lush farmlands and crossing the equator en route to Samburu National Reserve. Arrive at your safari lodge in time for lunch and a short rest before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Samburu is renowned for its unique wildlife, including the Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk, as well as elephants, lions, leopards, and a variety of bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Explore Samburu

After an early breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive in Samburu National Reserve with a packed lunch. Explore the reserve's rugged landscapes and the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, where wildlife gathers to drink. Look out for the famous Samburu Special Five — Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk — along with elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and numerous bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild before continuing your safari. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart Samburu and enjoy a scenic drive through Kenya's diverse landscapes to Meru National Park, one of the country's most unspoilt wilderness areas. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp before relaxing. In the afternoon, head out on a game drive to discover Meru's rich wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, and a variety of birdlife. Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the tranquillity of the African bush.

Visit the endangered black rhino sanctuary and, if time permits, the chimpanzee sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your memorable Kenyan safari.
