Today’s guided day hike takes you into the lush rainforest zone, where towering trees, moss-covered branches, and cool mountain air create a peaceful wilderness experience.
Follow forest trails beneath the canopy, listening to tropical bird calls and watching for blue monkeys moving through the treetops. Your guide will share insights into the forest and its remarkable ecosystem as you explore at a comfortable pace.
A freshly prepared picnic lunch will be enjoyed along the trail, giving you time to rest and appreciate the quiet beauty of the mountain surroundings. In the late afternoon, you will descend and return to Arusha. A delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at Gold Crest Hotel provide the perfect end to your first day in Tanzania.

Day 2
Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After a nourishing breakfast, you will travel south towards Tarangire National Park, a spectacular wilderness renowned for its ancient baobab trees, golden savannahs, and impressive elephant herds gathering around the Tarangire River. As you explore the park on game drives, keep watch for lions, elusive leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and abundant birdlife moving through the diverse landscape.
A scenic picnic lunch will be enjoyed beneath the shade of a baobab tree, offering a peaceful opportunity to pause and take in the sweeping views across the savannah. After lunch, continue exploring the park as the changing light creates new opportunities for wildlife encounters.
As the afternoon draws to a close, leave Tarangire behind and continue towards Karatu. Arrive at Karatu Villas for a warm dinner and a comfortable overnight stay, surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of Tanzania’s highlands.

Rise early for breakfast before descending into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, a vast ancient volcanic caldera and one of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife destinations. As you make your way down the forested crater walls, the landscape opens onto a wildlife-rich floor where you may encounter black rhinos, lions, hyenas, elephants, and large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles.
Continue your game drive across the caldera, exploring its grasslands, wetlands, and woodland habitats. A delicious picnic lunch will be enjoyed within the crater, with the scenic surroundings providing a memorable setting for a midday break. If conditions allow, you may also have views of hippos gathered in the crater’s pools.
In the late afternoon, ascend the steep crater walls and return to Karatu Villas. After a day of remarkable wildlife encounters, enjoy a warm dinner and a peaceful evening before your next adventure.

Keep watch for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and the park’s famous tree-climbing lions, while seasonal flamingos may gather along the shallow waters.
Enjoy a fresh picnic lunch within the park before beginning your comfortable journey back towards Arusha. Take in the changing landscapes as you leave the Rift Valley behind and continue towards your chosen destination.
