The Cradle of Mankind-The Ngorongoro crater

The Cradle of Mankind-The Ngorongoro crater

You will start before sunrise today to make it to the crater’s rim in time for golden hour. Looking down into the Ngorongoro caldera is one of the greatest sights in all of Africa. Once the largest mountain in Africa, it is now the only remaining intact caldera in the world, and it has become a wildlife haven.

With 25,000 large mammals inhabiting this relatively small National Park (100 square miles), it is incredibly easy to spot wildlife. It is also the best place to see the endangered black rhino. You can also expect to spot zebra, wildebeest, hyenas, elands, gazelle, lions, elephants, antelopes, jackals, hippos, ostriches, and plenty of flamingos.

After a hot picnic lunch by one of the beautiful lakes, we will head towards the endless plains of the Serengeti for another game drive on our way to our evening’s tented camp. Each tent has a bed and ensuite bathroom with a shower, perfect for relaxing after a long dusty day on the road.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Lion King Adventure Safari mode

Lion King Adventure Safari mode

Today is all about the kings of the savanna! The Central Serengeti is one of the finest places in Africa to observe lion prides in their natural habitat. An early start gives us the best chance to see them at their most active, and with a little luck, we may even witness the excitement of a hunt.

The Serengeti is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, so throughout the day we'll also be on the lookout for elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, giraffes, Grant's gazelles, impalas, kongoni (Coke's hartebeest), eland, cheetahs, and—if fortune smiles upon us—even the elusive leopard.

With an expert wildlife guide behind the wheel, every game drive offers fascinating sightings and countless opportunities to capture unforgettable photographs and videos of Africa's spectacular wildlife.

As the day draws to a close, we'll journey north through the Serengeti before arriving at our welcoming tented camp, where a warm reception, delicious meal, and a relaxing evening await.

Beyond the migration, keep watch for buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Continue south to Central Serengeti for your final night in the wild. Beyond Time-Discover the Hadzabe Culture

We have a special outing planned for your final day: a morning with the Hadzabe people, one of Tanzania’s last remaining hunter-gatherer communities. Living closely connected to nature, the Hadzabe have preserved traditions and skills passed down through generations, offering a rare glimpse into an ancient way of life.

During this unforgettable cultural experience, you will learn about their customs, daily routines, and deep knowledge of the surrounding environment. Join them on a traditional hunting expedition and discover the techniques they use to live sustainably from the land. With a little luck, you may even have the chance to share in the excitement of their catch.

A morning with the Hadzabe is truly like stepping back in time—a unique opportunity to connect with one of the world’s oldest living cultures.
