Kigali – Transfer to Bwindi

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali. Meet your professional driver-guide before departing for southwestern Uganda via the Cyanika or Katuna border crossing.

The drive takes you through Rwanda's rolling hills, picturesque villages, and beautiful countryside before crossing into Uganda. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park while enjoying spectacular views of the Virunga Mountains and the lush Kigezi Highlands.

Arrive in the afternoon and spend the rest of the day relaxing as you prepare for the unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure the following morning. Your guide will brief you on the trekking experience and answer any questions you may have.

Gorilla Trekking – Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for a briefing by experienced park rangers on gorilla trekking rules and safety guidelines.

Begin your trek through the dense rainforest in search of one of Bwindi's habituated mountain gorilla families. Depending on the gorillas' location, the trek may take between 2 and 6 hours. Once the gorillas are located, you'll spend one magical hour observing them as they feed, play, groom one another, and interact in their natural environment.

After receiving your Gorilla Trekking Certificate, enjoy lunch before beginning your return journey to Kigali. Cross back into Rwanda and arrive in the late afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your memorable gorilla safari.
