After dividing into groups of eight, enter the lush rainforest in search of habituated chimpanzee troops. Listen for their pant-hooting calls echoing through the canopy. Upon locating them, spend one magical hour observing their playful antics—grooming, feeding, and swinging effortlessly through the trees. Return to the starting point for a packed lunch, then begin the scenic transfer south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey offers stunning views of Uganda's rolling hills and rural life. Arrive at your Bwindi lodge in the evening, check in, and enjoy dinner while preparing for tomorrow's gorilla trek.

Begin before dawn with an early breakfast, then proceed to Bwindi's park headquarters for a briefing by UWA rangers. Assign trekking groups based on fitness levels and gorilla family locations. Enter the ancient, mist-shrouded forest, following skilled trackers through dense vegetation, climbing steep slopes, and pushing through thick undergrowth. The trek can last 2–6 hours depending on gorilla movement. When you locate a habituated family, enjoy one breathtaking hour with these majestic giants—witness silverback dominance, tender mothering, and playful juveniles. Capture unforgettable photos before descending. Return to the lodge for a hearty lunch and check-out. Begin the transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, crossing the border and arriving at your lodge in the evening. Dinner and overnight near the Virunga peaks.

Trek through dense bamboo, listening for rustling branches and high-pitched calls. Upon locating a troop, spend one precious hour observing their acrobatic leaps and playful social interactions—mothers grooming infants, juveniles tumbling, and alpha males watching vigilantly.
