Fly Zanzibar to JRO – Kilimanjaro Marangu Gate Hike – Arusha

Your adventure starts early in the morning with a direct domestic flight from Zanzibar Airport to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Upon landing, your professional driver-guide will greet you and transfer you toward the eastern foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro to Marangu Gate (1,860m). After completing park registrations and safety briefings, you will step directly into Mount Kilimanjaro's dense, ancient montane rainforest. Trek along the historic Marangu Route under a high green canopy, listening to the calls of exotic birds and spotting blue monkeys and black-and-white colobus monkeys in the branches overhead.

Your trek leads up toward Mandara Hut (2,720m), where you can take a short side walk to Maundi Crater for panoramic views extending into neighboring Kenya on a clear day. Enjoy a packed picnic lunch surrounded by wild orchids and towering eucalyptus trees before taking a leisurely hike back down to Marangu Gate.

Arusha to Central Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast at your hotel, meet your safari guide and board a custom 4x4 Land Cruiser heading west toward Central Serengeti. The drive cuts through the dramatic Great Rift Valley and climbs up into the cool crater rim highlands of Ngorongoro before opening up onto the vast savanna. As you pass through Naabi Hill Gate into Serengeti National Park—meaning "endless plains" in Maasai—you immediately begin your afternoon game drive en route to your central campsite.

Central Serengeti (Seronera) is world-renowned for its high concentration of wildlife, particularly big cats. Drive along the Seronera River, a vital water source that draws impressive numbers of elephants, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, and impalas. Scan the massive granite kopjes (rock outcrops) that dot the landscape, as they serve as favorite sunbathing and hunting spots for lion prides and elusive leopards.

Best Time To Visit January to February and June to October (Different areas are best at different times)

Serengeti Morning Game Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Serengeti Morning Game Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Wake up to the smells of fresh Tanzanian coffee and step outside to catch a breathtaking dawn over the Serengeti savanna. Early mornings provide the absolute best opportunities to catch predators on the hunt. Embark on a morning game drive as the first golden light hits the plains, tracking lion prides returning from night hunts, cheetahs scanning for prey and hyenas patrolling the perimeter. Keep an eye out for vast herds of wildebeest moving across the plains alongside long lines of zebras. After a morning of tracking wildlife, stop at a scenic picnic site for lunch in the heart of the bush before beginning your transit game drive back toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you leave the open plains, the terrain rises steadily toward the forested crater rim. You will arrive at your ridge-top lodge or campsite in the late afternoon, where sweeping views of the massive volcanic caldera await.

Ngorongoro Crater Floor Tour to Arusha Airport to Zanzibar

Ngorongoro Crater Floor Tour to Arusha Airport to Zanzibar

Rise early for a quick breakfast and descend 600 meters down the steep, lush outer walls into the floor of the world’s largest intact, unflooded volcanic caldera. Spanning roughly 260 square kilometers, the crater floor acts as a natural enclosure holding over 30,000 animals, making it one of the best places on earth to spot all of the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) in a single morning. Spend 5 hours traversing the diverse ecosystems inside the crater—from the open grasslands to the fever tree forests of Lerai and the shores of Lake Magadi. Watch hippos splash in the waterholes, spot large bull elephants with massive tusks, and try your luck at sighting the rare and critically endangered Black Rhino grazing in the open. Enjoy a unique picnic lunch near the hippo pool while soaking in the majestic surrounding walls. Later evening Transfer to Arusha Airport for Flight back to Zanzibar.
