Day 1

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire is famously known for its largest concentration of Elephants, Baobab trees and the magnificent scenery. The 6th largest park in Tanzania, Tarangire is an excellent introduction to your safari with over 550 bird species and herds of elephants teaming over its dry river bed for underground streams. Your game drive will last until around 5:00 pm then we continue to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

This area gives you a beautiful opportunity to experience a variety of different activities. With another local Reuel Travel guide from the area, you have the option of either Canoeing, Biking or Hiking in the Lake Manyara/Mto Wa Mbu region. Here you will get the chance to see local villages, learn about rice, corn and banana plantations, the livelihood of the people, visit a market and even have traditional food and local brew. You will learn about a multitude of things and see a different side to Tanzania.

Serengeti was voted the number one Safari destination in the world for a reason! Its majestic and awe inspiring beauty is definitely something one should experience in their lifetime. You will be blessed with panoramic views, amazing wildlife and spectacular photos! Serengeti is also the last natural grazing ecosystem in the world and home to The Great Wildebeest Migration, said to be the “greatest wildlife show on Earth”. The Serengeti is said to have over 3 million large mammals and nearly 500 species of birds. It should give you plenty of opportunities to see the “Big 5" in one day (Lion, Rhino, Elephant, Leopard and African Buffalo)!

About 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq kms in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder and also known as the “cradle of humankind”.

Located south west of the Ngorongoro, Lake Eyasi is best known for the Hadzabe tribe that live in the area. As one of the last hunters and gathers in the world, they still live traditionally collecting root crops, honey and hunting game for food. Well worth the visit and one of our personal favorites, it is amazing to see how they hunt and survive off the bush.

We start with an early morning to locate the nomadic Hadzabe society. It’s hard to imagine that a culture still exists that depends on roaming the land for food. They are in constant search of wild fruits, wild meat and roots. If you are physically fit and able, you'll have an amazing opportunity to run around and go hunting with them for a few hours. You’ll also learn and try your luck with a bow and arrow. On this day, your Reuel Travel African Adventure will come to an end. We will take you to your final destination for your on-going journey.
