As the road winds through the cool Ngorongoro Highlands, anticipation builds with every mile. Stop along the way for a freshly prepared picnic lunch as the changing landscapes offer your first taste of Tanzania. Then almost without warning the landscape opens into the endless plains of the Serengeti.
Your first game drive begins as you enter the park. Every turn holds the promise of a new encounter perhaps lions resting beneath an acacia tree elephants crossing the plains, or giraffes moving gracefully across the horizon. By evening, arrive at your camp, enjoy dinner beneath the African sky and let the sounds of the wilderness welcome you to your first night in the Serengeti.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands

Start the day with a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, when wildlife is often most active. Continue exploring the park as you head toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying more wildlife sightings along the way. After exiting the Serengeti, drive through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands to your camp, where you can relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the crater safari the following day.

Ngorongoro Crater

Wake up early for breakfast before descending 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, where an unforgettable morning of wildlife viewing awaits. As you explore the crater floor, keep an eye out for the Big Five, including the rare black rhino, along with elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, and countless other animals. After a picnic lunch in the crater, ascend the rim and enjoy the scenic drive back to Arusha, bringing your Tanzania safari to a memorable close.
