Entebbe – Fly to Bwindi – Batwa Cultural Experience

Begin the day with breakfast before transferring to Entebbe International Airport for your scheduled flight to Kihihi Airstrip.

Upon arrival at Kihihi, meet your safari guide and transfer by 4WD vehicle to Bwindi Lodge. Enjoy lunch at the lodge before spending the afternoon discovering the culture and heritage of the Batwa community.

The Batwa cultural experience provides an opportunity to learn about the traditional forest lifestyle of one of Uganda's indigenous communities. Through demonstrations, storytelling, traditional activities and performances, you will gain an insight into the Batwa's close relationship with the forest.

Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today is the highlight of your Uganda safari: gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After an early breakfast, make your way to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides. You will then enter the ancient rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.

The trek can take anywhere from a few hours to most of the day depending on the location of the gorilla family and forest conditions. The terrain can be steep and challenging, but the reward is an extraordinary opportunity to observe mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

Once you locate the gorillas, spend the permitted viewing time observing their behaviour, family interactions and the impressive silverback males that protect their groups.

After the trek, return to Bwindi Lodge for lunch or a late meal, followed by an afternoon of relaxation.
